Tell me what you think it will run 2

I will be getting my infamous full weight vert to the dragstrip in the next couple of weeks. Just like I did with my dyno thread, I want to know what everyone thinks the car will run.

Please include the following:

60' Time
1/4 Mile Time
Trap Speed

For background, I have made hundreds of passes down my local 1/4 mile track but this will be my first runs in a FWD car. (Although I have driven this particular car aggressively now for five years on the street.)

Here's the current build specs:

1996 SAAB 900 Turbo Convertible

Engine:
-Factory Turbocharged 2.0 L 16V-

Transmission:
-Manual, 5sp-

Clutch:
-Spec Stage 3 Disk Viggen PP-

Engine Upgrades:
-Garrett T-28 Turbo-
-Forge UNOS Manual Boost Controller-
-Forge Wastegate Actuator (Base Boost 18 PSI)-
-Forge Dual Piston Atmospheric BOV (Blue Spring)-
-ETS Bar & Plate Intercooler (Core Dimension 24”x8”x3.5”)-
-GlowShift Boost Gauge-
-Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump-
-Vortech Engineering FMU 3:1 w/Adjustable Bleeder-
-Walbro GSS 342 255Lph High Pressure Fuel Pump-
-DEI Exhaust Wrapped Exhaust Manifold / Downpipe-
-Port Matched Exhaust Manifold-
-ARP Exhaust Studs-
-2.5", Turbo Back, Exhaust w / Magnaflow 18" x 4” Round Resonator-
-Throttle Body Transition Casting Port Work-
-Custom Catch Can-

Wheels, Tires, Suspension & Brakes:
-ASA JH8 17x7.5-
-235/40/17 Sumitomo HTRZ II-
-Vogtland Lowering Springs-

Well i was Joking a little But also Not. I Love Sumitomos but unless they are brand new you may have a real problem finding traction. Even with LSD my sumitomos from last year went up in smoke on a regular basis. . Trap?? 98mph

I totally understand. My tires are not new and traction will be at a premium for sure. On the street, I can spin them at will in 2nd gear to redline. However, my right foot has become quite deft at feathering the throttle on the edge of spin so it should be interesting!

I expect wheelspin to be significant in 1st but 2nd should hook fairly well based on my experience at this particular strip.

I'll be sure to post back!

Seriously though, what is your projection for trap speed. That has much less to do with traction and much more to do with power to weight ratio.

With open diff and any street tire, I would guess:

60' 2.3
1/8th 9.8 at 83mph
1/4 in 14.3 at 105mph

I wish Jaws...but thank you!

With a 1.9 short time and a 114 trap, my ET would be about 12.5s unless I stopped off for snacks between the 60' mark and the 660' mark - LOL!

I thought the point of a drag strip was so that you didn't have to guess?

It oughta be 13's, +100 for sure.

I ran a 14.000 @ like 98 with a stock 15T and crappy 205 BFG radials on the front at 15psi, flat shifting, open diff, stock rev limit.

I haven't spent enough time driving a T5 to know how the gear ratios work out for 1/4 mile duty, but I know on my '01 SE the 3-4 shift was a problem with the stock rev limit. By the time I got down there it was either time to shift to 4 and lose some more time or run through the trap bouncing off the rev limit for a little bit.
