The title of this thread should be renamed to "How to remove the connecting rods from your engine without any tools!!"

While not intended to encourage any illegal-ish activity, I have buried the speedometer numerous times on my 900 and was still accelerating, prompting me to install an aftermarket speedometer that registered above 200mph...I'm still unaware of what she'll top out at.

I raced an SRT-4 down in Mexico before and when we ended around 140 maybe? God the time it took to get there was terrifying and this was back when I was stage 3.

Now from 60 in 3rd and 4th gear it still takes a good 12 seconds to get to 130 but it's a lot less scary because of how much more quickly it's happening. I've done countless pulls to 110~ and several going 120++ just while tuning and in a couple run-ins down in South America. I'm definitely for saying that it's safer to go faster in a faster car rather than a slower one.

OREEEly? Whats it take to Need a 200mph speedo in a saab? Do I have to cover the ENTIRE Saab in Dielectric grease & wipe the excess on the faces of the tires to get rid off ALL rolling resistance? Are 30 inch DONK wheels also needed to get 5th gear up that high?

Nah, just some ZR rated wheels and a well tuned engine/ecu/turbo...a set of balls come in handy as well (no pun intended).

Yahh don't take that the wrong way, This Has become a "FUN" thread though. Has anyone ever put a Saab in the Silver state road race where you could "Legally" "and or have the need," to go over 150?

Don't even know what that is but there are some on here who have participated in events at airstrips and Vigge regularly participates in competitions. 600whp brought him ~190mph in a mile or 1700m run.

I'm a Big Vigge Video fan, Here's the wiki on silver state, I've been dreaming of running in that one for like 20 years now.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_...ssic_Challenge
Silver State Classic ChallengeFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaJump to: navigation, search

Start of the raceThe Silver State Classic Challenge is an authorized Open Road Racing event that is run on a 90 mi (140 km) stretch of State Route 318, which is closed for the occasion. The event has been run since 1988, and was the venue for the highest speed achieved on a public highway, when Charles "Chuck" Shafer and Gary Bockman averaged 207.7801 mph (334.3897 km/h) in May 2000,[1] in a Chrysler LeBaron ARCA race car. Although high speed race cars receive much of the publicity, the majority of participants take part in mainstream street cars at average speeds ranging from 95 to 150 mph (153 to 240 km/h). These cars run the gamut from sports cars like Corvettes and Mustangs to sedans like Infiniti G35s, Mercedes wagons, and even Saturns.

Refer to his previous thread about going faster than exotics or w/e car he raced in the Off Topic thread. Maybe he's going back for another race.
