Time to BUILD the Viggen

so i pulled the trigger and bought tons of goods for my car. im planning to re-build the trans and engine to prep for a top mount setup in the next few months. and ill be taking pics the whole way through. soooo let it begin....










just some of the parts i got ready... starting to pull the engine and trans this friday and bringing the block and head to the machine shop sunday.

I'm actually in boonton but it's close enough haha. When I'm all done I'll meet up with u so u can check it out. Their having SOC in parsippany this year. How convenient lol

keepin the stock rods. after the top mount im lookin for the 400whp range, 375ft/lbs. i wanna keep it a great daily driver, nothing out of control.

You may want to think about getting some t5 cams for it, they breathe much better than the t7 ones.

im on a stg4 tune right now which includes the t5 cams. thanks for the heads up though.

Why are you going over bore? Never saw one of these blocks without machine marks on the cyl after close to 200K miles? Scoring for some reason?

SOunds liek a money no matter build ( I like those)... good luck

thanks. im going one over because i like doing things the right way. it may not be scored but ill be 100% sure the cylinder walls are perfect. im only buying parts and doing all the labor myself, which saves a ton of chedder right there lol. i rather spend the extra money and only have to do the job once

Gotcha, but I have noticed these engines are really suseptible to any changes in compression ( really its the emgine management, requires soem tweeking to get it right) my 234/T7 hybrid block has been a bit tricky to get running right...

Just curious tho, I decided to forego the 234 block I had my eye on and kep it all 235 this build....

the engine will have the same compression ratio. the bore-out is so minimal that it wont make any changes. its .005 just to resurface the walls. so this will still be a 2.3
