How much boost are the TD04's rated to run at anyways? I know it's not a 350hp Turbo - I mean, it can do it - but will be pushing it HARD. I'd look for an OEM Td04 or just get a Holset at this point...

That's why. XSBoost is known crap. Buy a used factory turbo off a Viggen or Aero, send it to Chadwick for a rebuild or to another reputable shop (Blouch or GPop) and I bet they will last longer than 4-5K. XSBoost is known for putting crappy parts in their rebuilds and hawking Chinese knockoffs.

Yeah you either have an oiling problem or the parts in the turbo are junk parts.

I noticed that when my PCV system was all f'd up and I left it that way I had to replace a turbo or two. Once I properly installed a catch can and actually ran it to the intake I have had better luck with my TDO4's lasting.

My 9k aero has the original td04 on it and it has lasted all of it's 220k life. No issues whatsoever - had it off at 160k and it had absolutely no play. I'd look to make sure there are no issues with oil lines or look for a shop other than XSBoost.

stfu, thats your retarded solution to everything. You don't just "put" a holset on an NG or 9-3

yeah, im pretty sure you do just PUT one on.... you just by all the parts needed to do so.... and if you are smart enough to do a td04 swap you are smart enough to install a holset hx35 on it

its not that complicated considering you can find a manifold or a header for it to bolt right up

THEN you dont have a turbo shitting its self all the time, and you can tune it to not make so much power that you break shit every time you get on it...

i think its retarded to not have a bullet proof turbo...

lets see here 600 bucks to upgrade a td04 to make 300 wheel and it could die really easy some last a long time some die often

or about 1000 bucks to buy a holset and a header/manifold and BOLT it right up... get a little creative and make an oil line, build some piping and your done with it...

if you dont go with an upgrade and want to keep it stock i would suggest buying a brand new oem replacment td04, they run about 800 bucks or so and have a warrenty.. cant beat that if you are staying stock

you stfu

No way, things made on the cheap in China are just as good as OEM, that can't have anything to do with it that they are from this same company. ***********

upgrading to a bigger turbo is not cheap eitherway, a manifold or header is not cheap, on a NG or 9-3 that is

Just because the CHRA and the compressor/exhaust housings have OEM markings on them doesn't mean they used OEM spec bearings, seals, and rings inside the turbo.

XSBoost is infamous for using crap internal parts or using incorrect parts (ie flatback plates on superback turbos, etc). End of story.
