Question KYB's...how bad are they???

On an 01 SE Vert that now has the 6 point on it (thank you GS!!!), would anyone recommend the KYB as a replacement for a stock car that likes to go fast, but knows it sucks at handling? Just wanting to have something that will last for 30-50K miles max and perform similarly well as the setup out of the factory (Sachs/Boge) without spending the dough for the Sachs/Boge=may as well go Bilstein.

Thanks for any input on these or anything as a substitute for the high priced Sachs/Bilsteins/etc. on the market.

Call me cheap, but all four sides can be replaced with the KYB's for $60 less than I can sell my new front Bilsteins for. Basically a $225 difference from having Bilsteins and $200 difference from having Sachs. Yes, not much of a difference, but I can't stand spending more money on this car

If the KYB's are that junky, I'll have to break down and keep the Bilsteins I have for the front and uhhh...pay the dough for the rears

They're fine as a budget replacement, but they definitely can't be considered an upgrade. If you're only going to keep the car for another year or two, and don't really want to dump money into it, then go for it...

GR-2 is a fine aftermarket OE replacement.
I wouldn't expect them to pe a performance upgrade, though.

Have you checked to see if the KYB AGX's are made for you car? They are adjustable and have suited my DD turbo accord well. I've heard that after a while they tend to lose their feeling of adjustability though...

The only thing AGX's have going for them is that they are cheaper than koni yellows. The adjustment knob basically does nothing. Like g96nt said, GR-2s are great OEM replacement shocks, however if you're looking for performance shocks stick to the koni yellows or bilstein shocks.
