This will only end bad. Every Tuner vs Tuner thread does. Do some searches, contact the tuners and ask questions, and try to figure out who you feel better about. Neither will give you bad tunes, and both are very capable tuners. I know you are looking for some "easy" answers, but that will not happen.

Both are great tuners with happy customers... Just do some research. Talk to both of them, and make a decision. Either way, you'll be happy.

I spoke to John but didn't get to Steve yet. I didn't know he did tunes until yesterday. I just thought that if I could get away with paying $75 vs $300 I'd take Steve's. I'll PM Steve and see what's up with his.

No wars to follow at all..... just different people doing different things.

John is using this as a primary income and this is a side job for me doing something I love.. hence my pricing is just enough to cover my time.

Steve had a large hand in getting ECU project running in the first place, so it should be pretty obvious who's going to be more familiar with T5 Suite & ECU tuning & who you's get a better result from...

Also, I am fairly sure Steve never had to post asking what the difference between Volts, Amps and watts was

This is also true... I have ridden in cars with a Steve Hayes tune and love it... it's really a great tune.

https://saablink.net/forum/showthread...ghlight=tuning

and like everyone said talk to the tuners and whoever you feel most comfortable with for whatever reason (price answers location etc) go with them.

Dear God, I hope this thread has a happy ending.

I had a dream last night that Steve showed up at my apartment building from Florida to tune my car but I told him that I couldn't because I was about to go to the grocery store to meet someone. Something like that, true story. Let this be a lesson to you all.

Well, I will give my input as far as my JZW tune goes:

I have a stage 5 (big turbo, big injectors, all supporting hardware) ng900 automatic and had John tune it for me. I really like the tune, and ticks off all of my requirements that I look for. I want it to feel stock when driven normally, but rip when you lay into the gas. This is just what he delivered, and it makes great power. I could probably blab on and on about my impression but I don't think it is necessary.

Bottom line is you can't go wrong.

i have JZW tune, and my car runs great, and his support has been awsome also...he has called me after months of not being intouch to see how the car was doing and just to talk about the saab world...he gave me what i asked for out of my car and then some...cant go wrong with jzw...

but i cant speak for steve as i have not met, nore talked to him so i cant say good or bad on him...i would assume also that if he contributed to building t5sweet then he would also know what he is doing

Me personally wont take my cars to anyone but JZW now as he and i work very well with what im looking for

In this case there is no 'You Get What You Pay For', since you pay JZW three times more than Steve and you get the same stuff (somebody who has both tunes can discuss which one is better).
