custom vig exhaust second o2 sensor????

hey i'm plannin on building a 3" dp and no cat then just transition into the stock exhaust before the axle..since this is my daily driver and i have 2 days i'm just doin that. Will the second o2 sensor cause the car not to run correctly if i have no cat? or even if i remove the second o2 sensor? thanks

You will have a check engine light. That second o2 is there to make sure the cat is operational. Removing it would not be the best idea.

this has been covered before, i think t7 suite can remedy the problem, but a search would probably be very helpful.

I think that is T5suite only for now, it is definately not the best of ideas to forget about the downstream o2 sensor.

On that note, will it make the car fail emissions if you turned off the rear o2 sensor?

Yes it will. A CEL on an OBD2 car is fail.

i dont care about emissions, just functionality. i dont have access to t7 suite. So i can put the o2 sensor in and pop a cell but the car would run fine?

Best bet is to use a cat. You're not going to lose much power, if any, and you're saving the earth one drive at a time. Use a cheap Catco cat and you're set.

When you do that...or instead of doing that...weld in an 02 bung after the cat, then screw in an O2 sensor extender (also called a "spark plug anti-fouler") That might remove the CEL.

OK.....I forgot that the Vig had the larger pipes as a standard item, so necking down from 3" to 2.5 should be totally fine, especially that far back.

I'd leave one cat there to prevent T7 from going batshit crazy -- and in case New Hampster decides to start doing visual checks -- but use the extender...

That's going to be a nice sounding system....Are you deleting both the center resonator and the back box, or necking down just before the back box?

EDIT: You're in Florida now? I think they got rid of inspections....

yeah I put 06 aero sport combi rims on the vig...tinted windows, lowered, rear sway bar, and this simple project along with ss brake lines. 3 bucks for a simple o2 extender saves alot of hassle. thanks buddy

I got one at autozone. It does work, but you might get nabbed for no cat at state inspection. PA inspection mechanics are supposed to do a visual inspection of the exhaust. So, I opted to get GS's DP.
