T5 suite success but rough idle

FINALLY got t5 suite to work! (trouble flashing). Two bad ecu's and two other reflashed ecu's from JZW later, finally success!

So just sharing my excitement but also open to advice on a couple things.

The car is a 96 - manufactured 11/95. It underwent a 5 speed conversion - donor engine and transmission from a 94.

It runs fine with the stock 96 auto ecu, custom full 3", and open intake.

I do remember the idle being a little rough when we first got it running.

The other night I threw in a 97ng900 file, t5 suite tuned to stg3. At first it was fine. Then it would stick in higher rpms and the idle was rough/fluctuating. (hadn't adapted it)

Disconnected the battery and tried again, same thing.

At one point I disconnected the air idle control valve, idle flattened out, even when I reconnected it (at this point I think the orig ecu was plugged in)

Thoughts, suggestions?

Thanks

my ideas:

year difference of engine/sensors
auto/5spd differences
97 tuned file - going to try a diff. 96 file after reading this http://forum.ecuproject.com/viewtopi...it=1996#p20969

Did you try running the virgin 97 file? In other words, does this problem only crop up with a T5 suited ecu?

That's a great idea - I'll have to try it.

Dump the .bin on the original ECU, then tune that. Flash to the spare ECU.
