Whats needed to drag Viggen in NH?
Hey guys and gals. I havent been around in a while because I just moved and had no internet for what seemed like years. Anyhoo, the kid at work with the nicely tuned Cobalt TC (tuned W/M, catless 3") 13.99/102mph?, never rests about how I've never raced the Viggen. I honestly don't think its THAT fast, but If Im going to drive to Epping, I want to race. I hear they are big on their tech inspections and the fact that the 9-3 never had a clutch safety switch is a big FAIL. I just dont have the time to wire in a fancy killswitch that might disrupt the security system or PCM. any pointers would be great, I just want to run fast enough to get a droptop booted. TIA.
oh, and nordic Stg 3,3.5 reg, ETS, 3"v2, CAI, t5 Cams, custom catback (rear mufler kind of fell off), 22 ARB, all poly. new NGKBCPR6ES. 215/45 Avons.

they know that 9-3's don't have kill switches.
I raced mine there quite often. just make sure you have all your lugs, a battery tie-down(stock is fine) and all the normal crap, like working belts. have fun!

Whats a clutch safety switch have to do with anything? Tech's not going to fail you for that. The only thing that can prevent is you starting it in gear which isn't going to be disastrous since you wont be moving! Run it, but I don't think you'll be running fast enough to get booted with your vert. Ask john williams.

wait...wut.? you need a neutral safety switch. the only exception is cars that didn't have one, factory.
my guess is a 104mph run, if you do well...

Fit some 7 plugs.. The 6s are quite marginal at that output.
Make sure not to let it wheel hop. This is a guaranteed trans killer. The tires are going to be your limiting factor. Also be easy on slipping the clutch.

you do need a clutch safty switch, just turn your key on and pretend to start it. works for me everytime.

they require them .... but they let saabs race anyways because they do not have them right out of the factory .... at least thats my experience with a few tracks in the maritimes

The rule at Epping used to be that you needed a helmet if you broke 100 mph. You were fine for your first run, but once they saw you could trap 100+ they wouldn't let you back out without one. Maybe they changed it to any ET under 14?

7s are right for higher output. 6s would be for stock lpt. They are a hotter plug since there is less combustion heat. 7s are "colder" that is they transfer more heat from the plug to the head to keep plug temps within workable range.

are you gonna be racing this weekend? me and my gf are going down to NH from Canada, and we wanna watch a race event while we are down (we both drag race almost every weekend up here)
if so pm me and maybe we can go watch some more saabs race ( im the only saab in the maritimes that drag races lol)
