coerrect way to set timing chain tension

swapped out my t7 cams in the vig for t5s and was wondering wahts the correct way to set timing chain tension??? do you fully remove the tensioner center bolt and then the tensioner itself or.... ? Id like to make sure this is correct before going any further with the car

Remove the top bolt the 12mm and make sure not to loose the plastic pin, once the spring is out then you can release the lock and retract the plunger. With v-cover installed reinstall the tensioner (minus spring) then once the body is in and tight 27mm.. fit the plastic plunger and spring followed by the cap and o-ring. The tensioner is self adjusting. But if you reinstall it without retracting it you will have the chain way too tight.

thats what I think is goin on right now .... do you just remove the 27mm and you are able to see how to retract it?

yes remove the 12mm bolt in the end then remove the 27mm tensioner, then you will see how to push the little tab and push the tensioner in...
