Just bought me a new turbo!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7959313280

Seems like a decent price considering that I got everything except for one of the coolant lines and a few other odds and ends (the parts hilighted on the sheet)

Thoughts? Decent deal?

Nice find.., and you paid only about a third of one that's normally sold used.

I never find these deals when I need them.

ya if i were u i would not use that inlet pipe... i would get some kinda dremel or something and smooth out the inlet into the turbo so there is no sharp lip in there and then put it on the car with a nice silicone elbow and u r set

Yeah, no plans to use the inlet pipe, and as a faithful follower of the ERP religion, I will be opening up the compressor inlet on the turbo...
But if he's going to include the inlet pipe in the auction, I might as well have it in my garage for shits and giggles

I decided to stay away from the one from the 9-5 because I'm a bit skeptical of its condition....someone else raised this concern on the SC forums I believe

I'd gladly take that inlet pipe off your hands. Could you PM me what your price is.

regards

if youre referring to the fact that the compressor blades are all covered in black shit then thats not from running rich. the reason the compressor blades get like that is the stock emissions friendly PCV system. basically it takes the blowby gasses from the engine and recirculates them into the intake stream before the turbo. good for emissions, bad for performance, or at least in theory.

Yeah I was looking at that turbo too. Ricot swayed me away because of the white stuff that he said was from running lean.
And the black stuff is relatively normal?
Its no big deal, I'm not really ready for the td04 upgrade yet anyways, still waiting for the dp and i/c

Redline-
This isn't the same one as that TD04 that had been running lean. I steered clear of that one
