BEST Air Intake Filter (Cone Type)

Ok guys. I need to get a new air intake filter on my car. I can feel her choking from this old dirty filter I got from pepboys. I think it's a 3A Racing Filter or something. I want the best air flow possible...Here are some options:

1.

2.

3.

I'm really interested in trying this one:

6.

I need the air to flow into the filter from the front mostly. Since it's right behind my passenger side headlight...

Oh and what if I tried something like this:

Here's the current setup:

Except no more clear viggen tube, it's now stainless steel...

Why not get a custom made Rechargeable K&N from Advanced Auto?

Just measure the diameter of the old one, you may even be able to pick one up at autozone

Like $35. But you don't have to keep buying cheap filters.

You have put so much in that car....to be an N/A...I'd be scared to run up against you....even with a turbo. But would probably never do that as part of the unspoken code for SAABer's.

Have you purchased a larger throttle body for her yet? That's one of the first things I did on a similar car along with the k&n intake, and headers. That will definately raise the curve for ya..

Looking good.

Didn't know I could buy a larger throttle body?! Maybe just get it bored out, I know Group 9 Performance does that.

I'd go for the Viper kit from Piper-x..

Found here:

Or maybe the standard Vector cone like the ones I use...

you would??

maybe i'm missing something but I dont see any engine work on the car?

not trying to take anything away from him, he's spent alot of money on cosmetic things, but i dont see anything in the way of performance to the point i'd be scared to run against a NA 900 automatic....

i personally wouldn't spend my money on any of those intakes/filters you posted.

i just dont trust the quality of cheap filters. Not to mention none of those intakes posted have any type of velocity stack, or any shielding from the engine heat. you're better off buying a quality filter & using the stock box if you can't run some type of heatshiled.

look at something like this BMC CDA (carbon dynamic airbox). One of the best designed pieces on the market.

Thanks for all the ideas. Keep em coming!

As far as my engine work, you're right there hasn't been much

Taliaferro 2.3L N/A Sport Intake System / Custom Cold Air Intake System, NGK Gold Palladium Spark Plugs, GReddy MX Oval Style Replica Exhaust Muffler with custom installation, Engine Dressup/Cleanup to remove all that dirt and grime that limits HP. About it. I am happy with where it is now with power, as far as the butt dyno. But would love to get more mods. So expensive for an N/A though. and very limited...

yup, very expensive, and the cost benefit isn't there when comparing to forced induction.

well, i was getting tired of my 2.8L V6 A4....did all the basic upgrades...but i needed more power. so I slapped on a supercharger
