GS upgrades
Wow, what a weekend. Added Genuine version II DP, New brake rotors, new brake pads, and new control arm bushings. I need frequent buyer miles from GS.
Anyway, while working through the replacement of the control arm bushings, I took out the Stanchion arm bolt on the drivers site. While the bolt looked good, after it came out it was all rusted everywhere but the ends - i.e. first 1 inch on either side of the bolt was clean and nice. In between - rust, tons of of it. Bolt had lost a lot of integrity. Also noticed the metal tube inserts were rotted with rust too. I was going to get new bolts from eeuroparts - but they don't list that bolt? Is it the same as the control arm to frame bolt? I noticed I can get the bushing insert tubes. Wonder if I'd be better off replacing the bushing as well? Thoughts? Thanks Andrew 02 Viggen vert. |
