Turbo heat shield

Is it worth just removing the turbo heat shield? Thought it would be better cause then the fan can blow a bi t more air onto the turbo and head. Then i thought that maybe it will cause more heat on the piping? The temps here get up to 32 degrees celsius.

Very bad idea to remove it.. Important part.. You want to keep the radiant heat down or you will start burning stuff.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the heat sheild helps keep cold air off the turbo, as well as keeping the heat contained from the rest of the engine. if cool enough air were to reach the spooling hot turbo, it could crack do to the rapid temperature change on the metal. same reasoning behind why you should sit and let turbo'd cars idle for a minute before shutting the engine off.

Heat retention and heat flow control are both very critical in a turbo car. Keep the part. If anything paint it w/ high heat paint.

This is mostly due to the fact that the turbos lifeline is oil. You turn the car off and its source is cut off. You want to idle for a minute to let the trubo spool down to as slow as it can while at idle.

The air hitting the turbo isnt drastic enough to crack it. If the air hitting the turbo was able to hit it all at once from nothing and be very cold, maybe. The heat shield is more to contain the heat from all the other vital parts in the engine bay. ie rubber hoses and vacuum hose.
