i like that alot as well.. there is just one thing i dont like... its the transition.... but we cant do anything about it on our t7s.... what i may do is smooth out the metal lip on the turbo and then throw on a silicone elbow and make the upper half of the inlet pipe...

are you running a stock ecu?

I have heard they help spool up but also I have heard they don't do much under 300 HP and can confuse the ECU. so please let us know how it goes because it looks like a really nice well made part and I would like one, too....

when you take your stock inlet pippe off take a look at your turbo there is a metal lip inside the compressor side.. if u look u will see...... that is what i want to get rid of...

and yes mods do give u more power without an ecu... on a t7

this is true, up to a certain point. T7 only adapts within a certain range, from what I understand. of course, it depends on who you ask (which tuning company, or which self proclaimed t7 theory expert) I just worry about what the AF ratio looks like with lots of mods and no ECU retune.

for example, the optiflow open intake debate. I was told it helps, and also told it gives a net loss of power, in the summertime.

maybe it is just because it is cold as balls right now, but my car is pulling like a mutha with stock SW and optiflow filter. so I don't know what to beleive. but then again, this is not confirmed on a dyno, just my "butt" telling us it goes faster... and maybe in a few months it will seem different when it gets really warm...

The intake pipe I managed to get is not nearly as nice as the ones Nick sells ... but I think both could use a large weld-ridge at the large-intake end of the pipe. I had my rubber hose vibrate off because it didn't quite stick. Woulda been fine with a ridge at the very end, but it had one farther down. Oh well. I managed to find a way to make it stick.

Just remember, T7 does not like to spool up too quickly. Don't expect to gain any power on stock software unless you counter the spool-up with another mod the makes it spool less-quickly.

so why did you add this pipe, have you tip-toed off quietly and gone and gotten an ECU in secret???

what effects do you notice? dyno? details!

nope he still has no ecu... adrian... precisely why i still have the stock inlet pipe... that will keep a certain amount of choke flow there.... and my exhaust also has a cat... though again i can not test drive the car

okay okay i put it on today!!

WOW one of the best mods i have done yet!!! fitting was very simple... i think it was easier than when i took my stock one off to grind the lip....
any ways... the car pulls HARD! i could feel the differance A LOT! and it sounds cleaner... i cant really explain that but i cant hear the filter or the exhaust as much...just all turbo!!

so with my 3" dp no cat, 2.5"catback, hyperboost bpv, JR filter/open air kit, the new inlet pipe and silicone....this this is just about ready for the ECU!!
seriously i dont know what im guna do with all that HP.... haha
