It all started with the timing chain....

My '99 9-3 SE:
B204L w/ T25 and shitty Intercooler.
185 hp stock.

Before I go any Farther, I owe a huge thanks to Rob (SPG-GASM) and the wonderful people, Marty & Annette, for allowing me to use their shop.

So it began when I needed to replace the timing chain.. it was making far too much noise for our comfort. Rob and I got to talking and a couple weeks later, this is where we are: engine is out of the car and we are working on the rebuild.

The List:
This is everything I had done previous to this summer.

MP Short Throw Shifter
MBC
GS rear sway bar
GS Engine Mount
GS Trans Mount
2.5" custom cat back (magnaflow muffler/cat) Viggen look-a-like tip.
Blitz Blow Off Valve
2.5" Custom Cold Air Intake
--

2 Months ago she got all this:

GS Poly Bushes (all)
Quaife LSD (Thanks Dad!)
Spec Clutch (stg 2)
Spec Lightweight Flywheel
--

Now In Progress: "-" designates its completion

-Replaced all Timing
-Balance Shaft Delete
-New Water Pump
-New Crank Position Sensor
-Upgraded Valve Springs
-All seals replaced except the oil pump seals and the dipstick tube seal.
-Painted Block Red
-Painted coolant/oil lines 'Aluminum'
-Painted all Brackets 'Aluminum'
-Cleaned everything
New Headgasket
3" JT Exhaust painted with POR-20 (1 Muffler, 0 Cat)
GS slotted Rotors front and rear
Hawk HPS pads- front
Ceramic pads- rear
New Intercooler & 2.5" Delivery Pipe from I/C to Throttle Body
--

coming soon:

Koni Sport Kit-- as soon as I get it from GS
Suspension Bearings f/r
T5 Suite-- I can has on-the-fly tuning?!!
--

Coming later- spring time most likely:

bigger turbo:
TD04 #6/Big T28
Holset?-- i think not.
-----

The non performance list:
Previous to this summer.

Little Griffin Stickers (best mod evar!!)
Infinity Kappa 6.5" Front Doors
Infinity Reference 6x9" Rear 'Deck'
^powered by Sony Amp 125x2 rms
XM radio- Custom Install
2 Gauge A-Pillar Pod
^AutoMeter Ultra Lite Boost/Vac Gauge
^AutoMeter Ultra Lite Air/Fuel Gauge
Smoked Side Markers
Smoked Headlights
Fogs replaced with non-saab ones, I broke the tabs off somehow
--

In Progress:
12" Sub in the hatch (still deciding which one to get)
^powered by sony Amp- 2 ch. running at 360x1
New Sony Head Unit
ProSport Gauges
-Water Temp
-Boost/Vac
-EGT
-Oil Pressure
JAW Wideband A/F
--

Coming sometime (I hope):

hmmm.. should i post some wonderful pictures of mr. roberto so everyone knows who he is!? haha

p.s.
THANKS ROB! ... there ya go, again.
----------------

Red Block, Timing back together, clean timing cover, nice freshly painted black crank pulley

everything looks soo good! Accurate color of the block.

i can has head gasket?

water pump/coolant lines back on...

I'm really liking this red/silver/black combo... too bad it wont be seen too well

b204: i can has big bore?
me: no, no you cant.

I'm jealous.

I really wish i grabbed some pictures when we first dropped the pan.
it was incredibly clean: maybe 10-12 little specks of shit on the pick-up screen.
Same with the valve cover. Religious about Mobil 1 every ~4000 miles truly makes a difference!

I just polished up the turbo compressor housing and intake delivery pipe today. Also, I
painted the exhaust manifold black. I'll grab some pictures of those in the daylight tomorrow.

after too many month of not posting an update- [fail on my part.]

the engine install went smooth- car have been running great and is alot of fun with the new koni suspension, full poly bushings, & jt 3".

I've been slacking on the fmic install- partially because I had an issue with the TB bend not fitting correctly, but that has been sent out to be taken care of.

now its just time to get that 18t and a tune on it.

my plans include siemens 630cc injectors on a stock pump (maybe walbro 255?) and then T5 Suite'ing it to a custom tune of 280-300whp.

still need to button up a few things on the interior and figure out a better solution for the 2 amps and single 12" sub box in the hatch.

here's a shot with the winter tires on black vikings.

POR-20 sucks IMHO. I used it on one of my c900 engine rebuilds on the turbo and manifold and it flaked off in no time. Thought maybe my prep wasn't good so I redid it--flaked again. Now I use POR-15 Manifold Grey mixed with 1200-degree silver paint. Same look, but for some reason it holds up much better. YMMV.

OP, your motor looks beautiful though--nice work!
