Remove your viggen td04. Remove the wastgate, unbolt the vband clip on the viggen turbo that holds the turbine housing to the center section. Do the same on the 9000 td04. Remove both housings. You may or may not have to remove the locating pin, just depends on how everything lines up clocking wise. Install the 9000 turbine housing onto the viggen td04. Make sure the orientation is where it should be. Install v-band and re-install the turbo.
I agree with Nahum. The center sections of the turbos are exactly the same, only the housings are different. The easiest way by far is to just swap the turbine housing. My 900 came with a 9000 TD04 on it which made for some less then ideal plumbing. When I had to swap it out for a lower mileage one I just used a T7 TD04 and swapped turbine housings.
If you dont have a spare housing...then you will have to seperate the center section from the compressor housing. You will see a little nipple on the housing that will need to be ground off. You will then notice that the wastegate will not bolt up correctly. You will have to then weld a new wastgate bracket up onto the compressor housing for optimum mounting.
Cool. I figured it was a simple disassemble/reassemble thing. Second questions I guess, is it really worth doing, that is changing from a 5cc to a 6cc exhaust housing...
I have a T7 comp housing, actuator and 6cm 9000 exhaust housing on my 900. The little pin Mark is referring too is easy to remove...pair of needle nose pliers and it came right out.
i need to do this to, i have a t7 with 5k on in and i just want a 6cm
