Well i just put the Cold Air Intake and SMBC on my car and wow!!!! You can tell a difference for sure. Though i thought i would just let people with the SMBC's know. If you look at the plastic piece where the SMBC plugged into on the sensor you will see that it has a very small hole!! VERY SMALL!!!! If you make it bigger it will Raise the boost on the Turbo, My Turbo was pushing 15 PSI well after the slight mod i just said i got it to push right at 26 PSI. Now i dont recommend running the Stock turbo that high.... Just Thought i would share what i knew. I will post some pics here soon.
Made one of the ewww grinding type sound so i backed the SMBC down and it runs great!! no turbo lag at all!! 1'st gear pushes about 8-10 PSI then from 2'nd to 5'th pushed about 15-16 PSI.
i think when i made that hole bigger on the Sensor it changed that. But then again an Atmospheric BOV on a T-7 is supposed to make the Engine trip out and mine doesn't.
You ever hear those stories...you know, like Wangan Midnight, Herbie, and the like.......cars that defy all odds, seem to have a deathwish, yet at the same time refuse to die like a good little soldier.?
Meet Inga, a 2001 Saab 9-3 that'll take your girlfriend out to a strip bar, smoke a pack of Evolutions a day, and eat the Dalai Lama for breakfast.
See the thing is i didn't mean to make the hole bigger on the BPC Sensor! The tip broke off when i pulled the hose off. Thats how i found out that it will push more boost. Honestly i don't know what has been done to the car. I bought it and i could be other 93 SE no problem. So maybe the owner before me did something to it, Hell i don't know. I just thought i would let everyone know what happened.
It has been mentioned here and on Saabcentral that its a good way to add some extra air flow as well. So any benefit you get from it is not worth subjecting your hood to the extra heat, increasing the sound etc....
Well im not removing the firewall padding lol. There is enough road noise as it is. But it sounds great!!! Thanks for the advice, But also i have another question. Yesterday i ran into a 2001 Saab 93 SE same as mine. Just different rims and seats but other then that was my car. Anyways i looked at his engine and his had something mine didnt.... im gonna post a picture where it should be on my engine but its not. You can see where it bolted up at if your looking from the front of the car its on the driverside of the motor. top part of the motor. the air intake from the IC that runs to the intake runs right over it. ill post a picture in a minute.
