ok so i have done a few things to my car, but not many suspension upgrades. i only have an uprated swaybar from Nick. now i want to do motor/tranny mounts. what i am asking here is i want to do it over time, is put these parts in over a few weeks, so with a little help from you guys is to put them in order, in the order of what has more improvement. any info or opinions on these parts welcome also. thanks-Derek
When you put them in make sure they are torqued correctly and do not tilt the engine to one side or the other. Pre-loading can lead to a nasty ordeal involving bolt extraction or complete bracket removal and a trip to the machine shop.
When it happend to me Nick said he had it happen to him once but I hadn't read it elsewhere happening. Within a week of having fixed mine I had 3 different e-mails from people who had it happen to them in that week asking for help.
Don't read that as a reason not to do those mounts. They really are needed. It's just to make sure you know not pre-load it incorrectly.
just put the trans mount in my vig last weekend and loving it. no increased vibration at idle unless the a/c is on, then it's def noticeable but not bad. the mount is really beefy. excellent improvement.
I would check out your ball joints. If they are loose, replace those and add the poly bushings into them.
