i need to replace my o2 sensor, could i use the wires from the o2 sensor the run a widebade guage and go to the ecu? could i splice in to it for the guage and not get a to low of a reading from the sensor going to both the ecu and guage?
Wide band kits have their own o2 sensors, but the big problem is that they have to be able to read the wide band signal and that takes a stand-alone box of some kind to determine the reading and then send it to the wide band gage. What you are talking about would only be narrow band.
The innovate stand alone system is pretty cheap, about 200 bucks and then you can expand it to do egt, pressure, rpm, and many other parameters.
Using the simulated output is not the best idea. If you are not perfect with the wiring you can end up with a ground bias and end up sending garbage to the ecu. I always run them in parallel. Outcome is much better.
