Gains from Aftermarket DV

So the bpv on my dads car is starting to hoot and compressor surges quite a bit. Does the stock Viggen bpv leak boost at all? Time for aftermarket bpv?

Car is a 2001 9-3SE with intake and SMBC

Thanks

By 2000 or 2001 all saabs had the "Viggen" bypass valve in them. So, other than fixing a broken and leaking part that it sounds like you have, you will see no performance gain over what you had before your valve began to leak (if that is actually your problem here).

I knew which cars had the viggen valve, just didnt know if they leaked boost like the ones in the ng900.

Id say its time for a Forge. Green spring, right?

as mentioned theres no performance gain just more reliable. plus if your running silly power will dump alot faster and a greater volume reducing the tendancy to rev up between gearchanges.

There are people with 400+ hp using the OEM valves, they will work fine for a stock bossting car. Forge does make a nice unit though!

The forge you can take apart and clean.

The stock one you cannot.
