Loud SHHHHHHH from turbo????

Hi guys i was racing my mates ml 55 amg (which i absolutely annihilate) recently.
I was obviously flooring it quite hard. Since then my car makes a loud SHHHHH sound as it boosts. It dosnt seem to have lost power though. At idle i can also hear a rattle somewhere, which might or might not be related. Any thoughts as to where ths loud SHHHHH is coming from? It sounds quite mean, although a bit excessive

I would check your piping/hoses (on the pressurized side of the turbo) for a boost leak, SHHHHHH isn't exactly a term that gives a def. answer to what a noise is. Good luck though.

It sounds like it could be a stuck open bypass valve, but then you would be losing power. Not sure, given the strong power still.

The exhaust silencer box. I think the exhaust shop purposfully damaged it when they made my downpipe so i have to come back to do the full exhaust.

How does your car like running with no catalytic converters?

Just curious.

When i bought the carfrom the agents, the cats were off. The workshop manager told me that South Africa only got 30 Viggens, and they removed the cats to make them perform better (we have no pollution regulations here yet). Maybe thats why my car makes such good power? All they did was cut out the cats, so now last week i got a76mm dp made which runs from the turbo to the first silencer box. It feels a bit better than before. Anyway to answer ur question, i am not quite sure how the car should perform with cats on, but it really does go well and has good dyno readings. Cant wait to tune the ecu this month I have a guy who will custom tune it, up the boost a bit and check how strong these TDO4 turbos really are
