intercooler, bar and plate or tube and fin?

I'm looking to buy an intercooler and I'm debating between getting an ebay bar and plate intercooler or a PWR tube and fin intercooler.

I have been searching on PWR intercooler and everything says that PWR makes great intercoolers and I havent heard anything about the ebay intercoolers

what is the difference between the two designs?

tube and fin are a cheaper design and is the way the stock intercoolers are made.

I bought a bar and plate on ebay, and it seems fine.

People have reported a good gain from switching to a "name brand" intercooler from a cheap ebay one, but I have yet to see a before and after dyno for a saab.

From what I have read here is the following.

Tube & Fin:
Cheaper because its easier to construct. They also are more efficient at cooling but they are quicker to heat soak.

Bar & Plate:
Cost more due to there construction. They take longer to heat soak so you get more endurance for longer pulls but not as efficient.

Final Take:
Bar & Plate will always be better then our stock tube fin setup. However if your looking at cores of the same size between a bar & plate or tube & fin design it comes down to your build project. For a street machine or track car I'd say go Bar & Plate as you'll get more endurance out of it. Now if your building a drag car and know you'll have plenty of time to cool it down then why not a good tube & fin core.

Now if your wanting just a drop in intercooler well those are all bar & plate from ETS, Forge, and MP (if you find them).
