One of those days...



Running sweet. Quite fast. ~1.8bar on the Gt3071 2.0ltr Planning to dyno Saturday and play with timing. Coming back from lunch we lost a little compression. It also hit the bore and bent the crank position ring..

This was the "Nira 2.0" Ng 900 I have been driving it on and off for a few days. Mostly working on cold start since it has been very cold here.

Just boost.. It makes lots more power with the new 276 cams.

Dad drove it back from lunch. Romped it down the street near the shop and it sounded odd. Just about to wonder what it is it bent a little more and started hitting the CrankPosition Sensor. It was over as we were pulling into the shop.. Time for better rods but no time to build a new engine. It was so freaking sweet.. Faster than my viggen with 400whp Customer cars for now.

I would have thought pre-ignition, two cylinders firing simultaneously, doesnt seem like something that could "wear" like that, you think of something hitting quickly and suddenly to do that type of damage. At least I do??

yeah at first thought the way it bent looks like something happened above the piston casuing it to almost want to go backwards during the upstroke, ya know what im picturing here?

although i suppose thats what a giant misfire pressurizing the cylinder could do?
