level 10 tranny upgrade

anyone ever hear of these guys? They can supposedly make a near "bulletproof" tranny for autobox even! I may look into this if the time comes when mine goes and i need a rebuild. If I can get up to stage 3+ and nothing breaks, I may look into it anyways so I can get a stage 4 autobox.

they custom make parts, too. I am sure they can help out somehow if they do volvos. I have not contacted them yet because I have other things I want to do first.

I did not see Saab on the list but they also said "and many more..."

well If I blow an autobox it will be about 3000 for a new one, and the kits they list are about half the cost. i am guessing to get one of the bulletproof autobox trannies custom built is the same as buying a stock new autobox.

why are you being such a skeptic, you don't even have an autobox!

i'm feeling like being the skeptic today, tomorrow i'll hand the role off to someone else

but a tranny is a tranny, auto or manual, they can both be blown err

LEVEL ten is an awesome company they have awesome reputations everywhere, and guys with drag cars use them as well.. more often than not dog boxes are made, basically an automatic with manual valve bodies.. so u can shift whenever u want with no clutch.. but u must shift otherwise it sits in the gear u were in... this could b a good thing but pricey

Here's a guy who had them upgrade his 4-Runner tranny. I believe it was a custom job. You might e-mail him to get some idea what custom jobs cost?

http://www.gadgetonline.com/Transmission.htm

Lots of good general info there about automatic tranismissions and upgrading.
