What mates well to a GS DP v2?

My flexpipe and exhaust are rusted to all hell. I was throwing around the idea of just going for the stage 3 setup from Nordic but quickly remembered how everytime I buy a ton of stuff for a car it finds some way to destroy itself, leaving you broke and unhappy with a pile of nice parts. I think I'm just going to fix these problems as they arise.

The 3" DP V.2 from GS looks to be built tough and would eliminate the need for me to buy a new flexpipe. What kind of exhaust setup would mate well to this? I would like to keep it somewhat quiet, but I'll eventually be moving to some sort of stage 3 setup so I don't want to have to buy it all over agian.

Car is a 00' Vig with no other engine/exhaust mods.

Thoughts and previous experiences would be helpfull.

Thanks, Merry Christmas.

I think it bolts up to where the factory muffler attaches. There is a joint there.

From what I remember, the joint is in front of the rear axle.

The Simmons catback is nice at $417. But for me, it was TOO quiet. For an extra $30 I had a straight pipe welded in to replace the 2nd muffler and now its perfect.

...if you can find one.

IIRC, the last new SS exhaust went away over a year ago.

This is yet another case where it would be a good idea to CALL NICK and get it figured out.

If you have an issue or question with someones product, CALL THEM FIRST.

I asked this question here for two reasons. One, I was wanting more than one or two peoples opinion. Two, I haven't had great progress talking to anyone from GS. Maybe it was because I called them before Christmas, but it seemed to be an underwhelming experience. Specifically I was looking for some proof in the way of dyno sheets, I doubt Nick has loads of them with different exhaust setups, apparently not as many people own the V2 DP as I thought.

That Simmons setup sounds good, but holy hell it's 60 bucks more than the comparable system from GS.

$60? That's not much when we're talking about upgrading Saabs...

I doubt the V2 does much for dyno results. It's more about better quality hardware. (eg. v-band!) Sometimes that is worth the cost alone. This can apply to the Simmons vs. GS as well. Both good products btw!
