264 cams in My Vig. Dyno results...

I switched the cams last night I could feel it pull harder but you can never trust that. I came over this morning before the storm front went through while it was 65f still. This way the runs are close to the same conditions. While we were tuning on the cobalt after this it dropped to 36!

Cams are timed at 1.2mm intake and .9mm exh open at TDC. Using stock gears with the tooth milled out.

This is comparing open DP to OPEN DP.. Now makes about 385whp through the catback. 60mm Remus! I have some new mufflers here just no time to weld it up. All runs are Through a Cat. I am pretty sure this is near the limit for this turbo (2871R .64...

dayum! those are some serious gains from 3700 up.

how much did you play with the software?

did you degree the cams or how did you come up with the timing?

Same software Needs 750cc though for the E85.. The 630s are nearly maxed.

I had a couple recommendations on the timing. I just started close to one end. Set with a dial indicator on the lifter to measure depression at TDC. I will try and make a video of it next week when we do another car.

Drives like sh** Needs the quaife here on the shelf installed.. along with some stickier tires than the Kumho MX 220tw.. Plus the roads are wet and 36f.

The divisions on the chart are 10s.. Was about 350hp and 360tq before.

Are you still running the stock manifold?

I am trying to figure out if these cams are overkill for me to reach my target of 350whp using the same GT2871R. I dont plan on using E85 so some of the tuning you have done for yours would be over the top of my plans.

Isnt that pushing the 18T out of its efficiency range? If I could get 350whp with an 18T and cams I would do it myself.

50hp gain??! certainly looks like it would make driving that car on the street a little bit harder, but you certainly dont lose nearly as much down low for what you gain up top

*edit*

nick, i assume thats a different tune for the cams?

Thats awesome. Question though, what all did you do to convert the fuel system to be E85 safe. I want to do that for my NG, and my instructor said that there are conversion kits available with an additive that you run through the fuel system that will protect it from the alcohol. I figure since I am going to do a piggyback system anyway, I may as well take another step.

Wow...I'd gladly trade 100-200 RPM slower spool for substantially more mid and high range power. That's a meaty set of gains...

Nice one, Nick!!!

It is more drivable now.. (As much as you can use that word at this power) I am sure Mike can understand..

The software was the same.. We were pushing the hardware pretty hard before. Now it can actually make requested airmass.

On e85 supposedly the fuel pumps wont last as long as gas.. I am running a Walbro 340.

It is on my top mount manifold.

We need to figure out how to get the power down before adding any more. It will boil tire on the highway. I will charge the camera and get some video.

No f-ing way the 18t would work for that whp. I hear ya though. Took 2 weeks and I also wanted more. Timing is everything in this world.

Ok head is also re-worked, but I personally give more credit to the cams, since the head flows "more than good enough" as std already.
