Brakes

Looking through EPC and WIS tonight and noticed how the viggen and non-viggen have different vacuum boosters. Could one gain a stronger brake effect by fitting the viggen vacuum booster to a non viggen?

Probably, I have looked on saabsite at the:

The oe viggen brake master cylinder is half the cost of an oe non viggen one. My guess is its shared with other cars.

It is the 9-5 setup. You would have to change master cyl and booster together and fab a new vacuum line since yours is a t5 car. Th strut brace may have to move also.

The booster is stronger however the master cylinder is larger so there is little net gain. Just makes the brakes a little more easy to modulate.

On a T7 OG9-3 would you have to make a new Vacuum line Nick?

Also I have a car with both the viggen MC/Booster combo and the std NG900 MC/Booster with viggen disks and calipers. There is little difference in the two. The NG900 has a slightly stiffer pedal due to the more rigid booster an smaller master cyl. I prefer the latter...

300mm rears or if you still have smaller fronts do the middle 9-5 rears. This is a bigger gain than you would have messing with booster. There is plenty of clamping force just not nearly enough frictional area and heat dissipation.
