B234 9000 or 900, which exh manifold.

On a B234, what exhaust manifold would you use when installing into a NG900?

I'm 99% going to just reuse the 204 manifold for the matching circular port at the turbo to the T7 9-3SE td-04. The turbo lines are all braided flex so that doesn't matter, and I don't want to get a new 3" downpipe.

but, any benefit to the very short runners of the 9000 manifold?
Looking for input

9000 on left, 900 on right

You'll need to use the NG900 one unless you move or modify the AC compressor....

Well thats a whole other post!

Thanks Mike.

I'd still need a new DP with a 9k manifold I'd be willing to bet though. So I'll probably go NG regardless of any AC decisions

c900 log might actually bolt up. I don't think anybody has tried it yet but it looks like it would work and give some extra room as well.

A c900 exhaust manifold on a c900...

For reference:

So won't the turbo be in the frame and battery tray to the left of the motor on the NG/c900 config? I can't see a reason to do that.

Hmm, find out why delorean still uses the stock c900 mani. I think it was the terrible (in a good way) sound the bastard makes. I bet you would get a real throaty poundy noise from it. Removing the AC and custom 3" dp aren't the hardest things to do.

I have always wondered if the 9000 mani would work mounted upside down for a top mount turbo. Anyone checked that out? Yes the c900 log style would take some work to fit battery relocate might do it. Defiantly would add a nice burble to the exhaust note!

ya, and the downpipe could be pretty slick with the c900 log manifold, turn the turbo so the exhaust outlet is facing back, and (if it works) the downpipe could be a pretty straight shot, although there may be other things in the way to do that

From Dip's page:

Looks like it would have to run right under the tranny bell housing right along the front subframe. Or else bend back to the usual location which would cause there to be more bends in the downpipe....

No, I thought the same thing, but it won't work. The bolt pattern for the studs is not mirrored. Its not even close.

Personally a custom made log style manifold with short runners and top mounted turbo would work the best for not much monies. But, hey thats just me...
