locking differential

i was looking through the c900 forums, and i saw this in a thread:

http://www.ultraviresmotorsports.com...rformance.html

Now, I realize it's not going to be as good as say a Quaife LSD, but would it be sufficient for a trailer'd drag car?

I do not have experience with that one but I know from experience if you ever want to dyno it do not use a welded diff. I have had 2 "experiences" with FWD drag cars using spools on the dyno.

Some of my Honda dyno customers say the OBX diffs mostly sold on ebay are pretty good. I have not tried one in a Saab yet though.

The savings are minimal considering that you are going to be spending as much on the R&R of the trans and diff as you would on the actual diff. I would personally just pony up the few hundred extra dollars and get a good unit from a company that actually stands behind their product.

Yea, but if you are the kind of guy that would weld the spider gears together, one fast 12.1 9000 did this, then you might be the guy to risk a lsd by himself, then you are talking 500 bucks vs 1250.00 and that is less than half price

yeah i'm not talking at all about what the work costs to install one. i'm hoping to explore the quality of the LSD itself, hear anyone's first hand experiences, debate production, etc..... if my car gets one it'll be me doing it anyway. so, for $425 for the OBX vs. the $1230 for the Quaife i think it warrants some discussion and research.

back on topic: anyone have any thoughts/opinions/experience with the OBX LSD ?
