Help: I want a better trans

well I really dont like how long the gears on my 94 Saab 900SE turbo are. My clutch is going out so when I change the clutch I would also like to swap in a transmission with shorter gears. I know that NA transmissions have shorter gears, but how much shorter are they? And what codes of NA transmission are shorter? Also will a 9000 transmission bolt up, how is the gearing on those? Basically if someone can inform me on what Saab transmissions bolt up, the difference between them, and the year ranges.

thankyou

The 9000 (most or some) are even taller than the 900.

Any reason to go shorter? I think the ratios are really good.

I think you just need to replace the clutch and run some more boost. Then you will appreciate the gears more

Dunno the specifics, but the 94-98 NA also has a different final drive.

You'll have better acceleration, but your mileage will drop....

Someone on SC did it last year....
