About to order MAPTUN stage 2

FINALLLlYYYY after months of waiting im getting a maptun stage 2 ECU for my 99 viggen. Ill keep this updated with pics of it and what i think of it once i get it.

awesome! I got the speedparts stage1 ecu from a friend of mine and I love it. About to go to stage2.

judging by the big increase from my Maptun stage 1 on my lowly autobox SE, I am sure you will LOVE this upgrade. Let us know how it goes. prepare to see your boost guage pinned.

yeah Stage 3 was ordered and james sent the order to maptun now I just have to install that damn fuel pressure reg and i should be at around 280 HP and 340FTLBS

Hey.... as long as my car is faster than nicks lol

I will definatally run the dyno when i get the ECU In fact im going to do it once with the cone and once with a drop in because no one else seems to have that info.

Ill keep you guys posted... theres more to come.

Boxer..,

I just sent my Maptun stage 3 for my NG900 back for an upgrade " ".

I didn't know the Viggens required another regulator for s3, because mine didn't..... Any idea what rate of fuel is required?...must be extreme compared to what it is now.

I am getting a 3.5 bar fuel pressure regualtor but thats about all i know at this point... If anyone else can give us some more info on this that would be great.

Ok, so I got my stage 3 ECU... Installed the FPR and plugged in the ECU, everything worked fine no CEL or anything. I started to drive went down the road a ways dident even get to see a full boost when i came to a stop light.... my car cuts off. I plug back in the stock ECU drive home and try the maptun again. it works for 20 seconds.... then stops. the stock ECU will still work but the after the fist time the maptun one cuts out it wont even start. I took it to a saab dealer to see if they could use Tech 2 and fix it. It did not work, he said the new ECU would not work. In addition to this my curent ECU i found out is EU spec. I dont even know where to begin... i just want my damn ECU working.

Man, this is the second time we have heard of a Maptun ECU problem out of the box. Hopefully you will get it straight and be as happy as Abdukted is with his now.

it sounds like your software is probably OK, probably a bad connection in the ECU or bad soldering job? if the car ran and then shut down? just an idea.

This sucks.....Did you have any other mods (FPR, bigger injectors, etc) that Maptun didn't know about? Could they have missed something?

I had other air flow mods... nothing that would do this... but basically it just wont turn over when this ECU is in then the CEL comes on. looks like a security problem... but we are not sure exactly what it is....

if you were able to start the car with the maptun ecu at least once, then it a bit less likely to be secuirty. if the TWICE/immobiliser code was not there/not right it would never have started at all. (don't ask me how i know this)

I know it is frustrating but they will fix it and when they do... hold on tight....I currently am having a "traction problem" due to cold temps allowing me so much boost. even broke the tires loose from about a 45 MPH roll today. my car likes this weather, the needle peaks all the way in the red and then backs off a bit, and then builds real smooth all the way to the end. don't have a long enough road to see how long i can peg it there, because by the time it reaches the end of the red I am going WAY TOO fast so i gotta brake... all those wet leaves on the ground are not helping traction either.
