What is the off set on this 17in 9 3 Rim?

Will the (2004) 9-3 rim 17 x 7 15 spoke wheel shown on the link below fit
a 2000 9-3 with the 510 off set?

I spoke to a dealer and he said it would fit but did not know the off set. Would these rims work on my 2000 9 3

Yes it will work...all 5-bolt Saab hubs work with all 5-bolt Saab wheels. Except the 92x.

Offset is around 40mm I think.

I think it's 38mm or 42mm depending on the wheel..

How come when you read the owners manual for the 9 3 it says "Wheels larger than 16' should not be fitted on the 9-3"? Just courious. When I have checked out everyone's mods it seems everyone with a 9-3 is running 17 rims
w/o any issues. I'm currenlty trying to figure out if I have to get wheel spacers to use 17 rims in the above link. The 17 15 spoke wheel

I have determined the offset to be 51mm for this rim using the link
below OFFSET = BACKSPACE - (RIM WIDTH) for my case 2' = 51/2 - 31/2
or 2 inches = 51mm

Again the owners manual say's the maximum permissible offset is 49mm
so in turn I should get wheel spacers to use these rims.

How do you choose the correct wheel spacer for performance and car safety?

Since the Viggen runs 17" stock I think they are just trying to avoid people from complaining about a ride that is too firm. You lose the bump absorbtion from a taller sidewall thus creating a firmer ride.

Where are you getting your measurements from?

I'm using a tape measure to measure the rims and then doing the math as per the website. I want to determine the correct or safest size for the wheel spacer to run the rim with larger tires
