CEL not functioning................

I'm having a problem with my check engine light and passing emissions inspection in Maryland. The problem is that the light itself is not working at all. It does not even come on for the check that occurs in the cluster everytime you turn the key to the "on" position. My OBDII port works fine tapping into the computer and I'm not showing any codes. I had my buds at Viking Automotive check it with a TechII and the bulb does function. This is what they said ;

" Randy, I can turn on the CEL with Tech 2 so there is no problem with the instrument cluster. Is the control unit for the fuel injection stock or modified? If it's modified they may have disabled that function."

The car has an ECU flashed with SQR Stage 4 software. Any ideas what the problem is or how to solve it?

Are you sure it dosent work when you actually have a fault? Or just on start up?

Try to get a regular 900se ECU and swap them to see.

Thanks. I believe that is the only way I will know. I may have to reflash.

Thanks. I'll talk to Paul at Automotion. He's always been a stand up guy.
