recommended ecu b234r

im going to be upgrading to the b234r soon in my 99 9-3 and im a little unsure of what ecu to get am going to be looking for a 9k ecu w/o tcs? im assuming i need one w/o tcs right? any imput guys??

You need to have the 9-3 ECU reflashed as you'll be using its wiring harness. Also 9000 T5 had its speed from the sensor cable on the trans where as the ng/99og have it from the abs sensor.

alright i was thinking i had to get a 9k ecu... so will the motor run when i put it in with the stock 99 ecu as is with stage 4?

He'll probably run SQR still as thats who he currently has stage 4 from. Besides all the tuners have multiple maps for b234 motors.

Your gonna have to run your current ECU and watch the A/F closely. That or wait to drop the B234 in till you can afford ECU. That way you swap motor while your ECU is in the mail to the Automotion crew.

Then you'll be good man. Drop the motor in and drive down and get the tune. Just don't beat on it till the tune is done.

Ted, you don't need to get a new ecu. Just have Paul tune the one in the car when you get the new motor in there. Phsycally all T5 ecus are the same, its the sw on them that differs.

i doubt you have a wideband so it wont matter.

the whole map will be a tad lean due to the difference in displacement not being accounted for, but if you really stay uner like 3k rppm's you should be fine imho.
