thoughts on t28

right now my turbo is blown, so i was thinking of sending to bloch for a rebuild/upgrade. anyone have experience on this or comments on the turbo, i want to get around 300 horse when done, and want it to real pull hard. chip will be done shortly after turbo is back in, but not sure if this is what i should be doing.

Nick at GS told me that GT28RS is good for 300 hp.

Above a viggen/aero td04hl-15t/5cm2 you have the 18t, t28 or gt28rs. None of these are done that much, and everybody has different opinions on which is best. Do a little reserach on each ands ee what you like.

I believe RedDIC has a 28 on his NG900. Took some work to get it to fit, but apparently is isn't slow....

RedDIC and i both have a GT28RS, they arent too hard to fit, some grinding needs to be done, but its not as bad as it sounds. Getting your T25 built into a T28 rebuilt will be an easy direct swap and can achieve similar power levels, for likely much less of a price. The 15t will only be capable of 285-290hp so if you wanna hit 300, youll have to go to an 18t and by that point you may have just bought a new turbo for the cost factor.

yea thats what hes talking about, but if you dotn already have a td04 then your looking at like 350 for a used one and then another 300+ for the upgrade. So now your sitting at 650 for a turbo, you can buy a new one for 800 and not have to worry about turnaround time or anything like that.

Somebody is mixed up here....

The t28 is a larger wheel for the t25 garrett turbo. The 18t is a larger wheel for the td04 mitts turbo.

Both upgrades (18t and t2 to their respective turbos cost about the same, so it just comes down to what you have to pay to get a core.

That is correct. It's something I am considering myself for my TD04... But, I haven't seen the discussion on here. I wonder what kinda power band that would get me and if it would put me @ 300hp. Could you post the link to this thread? Search didn't net me much...

I've had the t28 on, done by limit engineering for a few years now. I like it and it worked with the turbo I had.

He had his t25 turned into a t28, kinda like what Jak Stoll has on his site.
