Aero Turbo Installed

The Aero and Viggen turbos are the same except for the exhaust housing. The smallest crosssectional area is 5cm2 for the Viggen and 6cm2 for the Aero turbo. Had to port out the exhaust manifld exit to match the Aero turbo. This should put me close to 300 crank hp.

More details on my website.

Initial testing shows a good improvement in boost across the upper rpms. The Saab dyno day this weekend will show the results. This graph shows the boost and rpm for the Viggen and Aero turbo.

eric,

always glad to hear about your latest findings especially when it comes to performance.

I saw the Aero turbo upgrade a friend of yours did on your web site a while back, but looked like the exhaust outlet was plumbed on the opposite side as compared to an 9.3 or ng turbo.

What year Aero did you find that off of?

DC-SAAB The turbo pictured on my friends Saab is a T3/T4, not an Aero turbo. My turbo was from a 94 Aero, and can be found on the 94-98 Aeros and 9-5.

Ricot The 15G turbo is from the 9000, but not the Aero. The 15G compressor is slightly smaller than the 15T. But everything else is the same including the larger 6cm2 exhaust housing. You could use the exhaust side to upgrade your current 15T 5cm2. All the info you need on TD04s is here;
