Simple Intercooler Install

I put one of the 9000 intercoolers in my SS and it took us max 20 min. With no cutting or anything. I will get it on the dyno soon to see how the charge temp reacts. Looks sweet. Getting ready for the new bumper.

Non issue. Took hose off old intercooler (still in place! ) and fitted to new. On the drivers side one bracket needs loosened. Steve was ready for a fight and turns out we barely got warmed up.

So the car is on old 91octane with a BSR stg1. Took the dealer a few weeks to gouge my hood changing the emblem and fix the broken timin chain guide causing that nast rattle on startup.. Should have done it myself. Anyway back on track.. It runs better cold ~60f and exactly the same in the heat ~90f. I have not logged temps but on this output it is nearly nothing.

This was the temps STOCK IC in not that hot. Maybe 75 ambient

For comparison on the temps this is my viggen a smaller core on 400hp. Ignore the rest.. That was when fuel pressure was falling off bad.

Thats crazy. I never would have imagined it would be that easy. I had a hell of a time getting all the hoses lined up on the cold side on mine!

i definitely need one of those. So nick, all you did was swap the intercooler and keep the stock hosing? It was able to just fit right in or did you have to custom fabricate some mounts?

Yeah but the 9000ic does not mount in the car so it is free to move all around. Not a good thing. We should be done with the new one for the 9-3ss soon. Much cheaper too
