Straight pipe questions

I have a 2009 93 2.0T XWD, I'm looking to get an exhaust for my car but im not wanting to shell out the money for a catback online. I was wondering if i would have any problems running a straight pipe from the downpipe back.
I figured as long as i dont mess with the cats/emissions ill be okay.
I'm going to stick with stock pipe sizes and just run open 2 1/4 inch pipe from the downpipe back. Do you think ill be Okay? Or do you think ill have CEL issues?

Sound may be your issue. Delete the middle muffler/resonator. Replace the rear mufflers with aftermarket Flowmaster or Magnaflows. Next I would buy the 3" DP from either Krona or GenuineSaab with a cat for the optimized performance and sound.

I'm actually going for the "loud as f***" category haha. The only thing im worried about is throwing a check engine light since the Trionic 8 is so particular.

Also, dont the downpipes require a tune? Every one ive seen requires "special software to function properly"
