My brother-in-law has a decent video camera so hopefully he can get some sound clips. Spring break is next week so I will make lots of progress.

However, I have posted some pretty intimate (X-rated) pics of the underbody of my c900.

Instead of hot sandy beaches its cold concrete. Maybe I won't wear a coat when I weld so I can get a tan.

Here is some more progress

Front muffler connection. There is also a v-band connection on the back.

Over the axle

End of the line. Ohhhhh, shiny

Things left to do.

Build wastegate dump tube
Weld O2 bungs
Build tailpipe & muffler hangers
Make new trans exhaust bracket

Slightly off topic are those sweedish Dynamics Springs on your Saab? If so how do like them?

They are an older version of the Kilen springs (Powder coated black now instead of red) which are available @ eeuroparts. About 3/4" drop. Car likes the curves even without a roll bar.

Well the hangers are made as is the wastegate dump. Dropped everything off at the TIG welder on Saturday.

Power and sound impressions coming soon!

So I got my exhaust back from the welder yesterday.

The tig welds look great.

I start putting it together and notice that things aren't coming together very well. With closer inspection I realize that all 8 of my v-band flanges for my 4 v-band clamps are WARPED to some degree. The pipes don't line up and even if they did the joints wouldn't seal

I thought a guy that built his own gas tank and radiator for his hot rod would know a thing or two about welding. I guess we all make mistakes.

However, right now I have a $1000 in a junk exhaust system that I've been working on for 4 months and have at least 175-200 hours into it.

I may be able to flatten the flanges out by bolting a couple of 1/2 thick steel plates to the flanges and pulling them together with bolts. I guess we will see.

you'd probably have more luck having the V-Band flanges lapped/planed/filed flat.....Personally I dislike V bands....everything has to be PERFECT for them to not leak....kind of a pain
