I have the entire A/C housing from under that false bulkhead - I will not be puting it back into the car, if you would like it I will give it to you for the price of shipping. I am not totally sure if the evaporator is good or not....it seemed to ork before I parted the car out. It's yours if you want it!

Edit - they are around $600 for eEuroparts.com

Edit #2 I am not sure if an evaporator from a 1991 will fit your car...it seems they changed in 1992

Project 9Kt did mangage to sneak some goop on me in a underhanded manner, while I was helping in my limited way.

I need a project.

Just try to stick with my project and learn from it...then go about getting a beater of your own to wrench on.

So I don't know if I missed it or not, but what color are you going to paint it? The same old white or something new since you've got it all apart and can get those places like the jambs and down in the engine bay?

I am certainly NOT painting it white, and would rather not have it black or any other very dark color...I am thinking the steel gray color that was available on Viggens (and other 9-3's as well). I am certainly open to suggestions as far as the color goes, preferably not a super light or super dark color.

X2 Steel grey!

Or this!

You could even get the paint at a farm supply store!

Have you thought of keeping the engine bay a lighter color like silver? I think it would be easy to spot leaks, and whatnot.

Hmmmm...a Swedish Airforce theme I like the three crowns in the circle...

I think that steel grey would be light enough for my tastes under the hood, it won't stain from any leaks and it isn't too dark to spot the leaks. I better figure out what color it should be pretty soon!

Here's the progress as of tonight at about 10:30pm

This is all black epoxy primer, tomorrow the entire car minus the passenger side quarter panel will get a shot of 2k (high build) primer/sealer. The epoxy stuff that is on there right now is "non-sandable" which is why I need to go over it again with 2k primer.

Why not just use 2k primer you ask? Well, the epoxy stuff is supposed to bond really well to bare metal and even bits of crap that shouldn't be in paint. It also protects against rust very well.

I will post up some more photos after I shoot the grey pimer/sealer tomorrow!

I'm deciding what to do about the roll cage...The interior will be "bare bones" so it would only make sense to put a bunch of bracing in there for stiffness and roll-over safety. We'll see once the time comes, right now it's all about painting the jambs, then getting doors back on, and a motor back in. After that is all done then the fun can begin!

Edit: As far as ventilation goes - I have two high powered fans in the windows blowing the over-spray outside. I know its not "ideal" but it's not like I'm painting cars every day it might stink up the back yard for a bit...oh well! Plus I am wearing a good-ass respirator while doing that. I value my lungs.
