9000 Bilstein HD Question.

Can anyone confirm for me that the Bilstein HD front shocks come with a new Bilstein-yellow strut housing?

Do they look like this (top)? Or do they come with just the damper that you drop into your original housing like NG/9-3's?

TIA

they look as pictured on top. Full strut, all you need to do is bolt it in.

9000 Bilstein spring perch

The spring perch is a little higher(lower?) than the stock struts so you may have to fine tune ride heigth, only 1/4 inch or so.

I spent some considerable time swapping front struts because I was told the car had a full set of Bilsteins in it. I was afraid that would be my answer!

Shucks. At least I got the rears!

I think they're about right. I'd hate to see what someone thinks when riding in an actual sports car if they thing a 9000 with HDs and lowering springs is "harsh."

Compared to stock they're definitely a bit rough.

I went for a ride in my college buddy's Elise last fall....that made my 9000 feel like a Cadillac

I have Bilstein HDs and H&R Springs

I have been driving on them for 2 years and 12K now. They are firm but not harsh. I have my tires set to 37 PSI. They seam to feel better and better with age.

With that said, my wife doesn't like the ride.

I'm going with the koni's. Just received my Abbott springs, and the SAS bars are in the box. I have high expectations.

I have a related question to this thread. The other day I talked to the guys at eeuro and they told me that the bilstien HDs where pretty much the same as the factory ones on my aero...true?

Take it for what it's worth but eeuro doesn't sell Bilstein HD's for the front.
