What should I do with about $500-$700?

I'll have about $1000 by the end of this summer for stuff for my car. I'm setting some aside for repairs I know I have to have done and I'm having 35% tint put on next week. (Excluded from the $500-$700 budget) I have a totally stock 2003 9-5 Arc V6.

I'm thinking the OBX exhaust being talked about in this thread, and maybe suspension? Could that be done in $700? I'd definitely like to do exhaust.

Or should I do Aero kit, wheels and save up for exhaust?

I'm having issues choosing what I want to do.

And no ECU tunes....I already drive too fast. lol My goal is for the car to look, handle, and sound good, not necessarily go faster.

What do you think I should do?

I don't know of many aftermarket parts for the V6, so I'd go with the Aero suspension, wheels, and body kit. Look into a custom exhaust setup, that'll definitely keep the cost down.

5 $100 hooker bots or 500 $1 hooker bots? That is the question.

No no no, you don't wnat to put an Aero suspension on the V6, the motor is 400 lbs heavier than the 4, the spring rates will give you a wobbly feel al over the road....

I would enjoy the nice daily driver you have now as is and set aside the money for a future, more moddable project car.

Nick has proven that he is far wiser than I with Car advice! I would suggest an 04 Aero front end (because thats what I'm planning:))

What if I kept my stock springs and just replaced the struts? Could that work?

That was originally the plan. I was planning to keep the Arc stock and I was going to buy a manual pre-facelift wagon and mod that, but I can't do the insurance on another car. Plus I already have a Mustang that is getting some love and mods in the near future (a whole other budget)

That will happen. One day. No doubt about that.

I don't drive fast...I fly slow...haha

I think as Saab owners we should be able to use this as an excuse when pulled over.

As far upgrades go, I'd go with wheels although if you go to an Aero wheel, you need new tires..so thats a little out of price range. Also, Genuinesaab has some nice sounding exhausts that don't run too much. I have the BSR 2.5" cat back system (still waiting to install) but its supposted to add some low growl to your ride. It can be run on a stock ECU and is bolt on. Plus it comes with a nice tip.

I'm actually buying some Aero side skirts from a member over on SaabCentral and I'm painting my rear valance. The only part of the Aero kit I'll be missing is the front lip, but for the time being until I get one, I'm going to paint the two stock little lips on either side of the bumper.

I'm getting a really good deal on the skirts, so I'll still have some money left! So if I can find a nice set of wheels with good enough tires to get me through the rest of fall and summer, I can use my current 16s in the winter and get new tires for the 17s next spring. If anyone has a set they're willing to sell cheap, PM me.
