questions about the headears.

first I will say the look real sweet.

but my question is about the header flange.

Isnt it good practice to slit the flange between every port to prevent warpage from thermal expansion?

it normally is, but I don't see a good place on his to do that.
Looks like it's designed to prevent warpage by it's weird angles.

chapel, once my car is up and running properly, it will be the exact same setup that dave had. i will take you for a ride if you want, so you can see the potential that your car has.

Do you have an Aero?
I noticed you said you were only making 190ish whp when you went to dyno.
I'm at 210whp and 260wtq right now stock.

ah.
So, what exactly do you have done?
I sorta only know how things work from an Aero perspective.

i put a td-04 off daveships aero on my car (thus making it a 1999 aero-ish setup), with the BSR 3" downpipe and fmic setup off daves aero. i also have a stage 4 SQR tune. i already had the saabsport exhaust. so basically i have a stage 4 base model 9-5.

or in your aero perspective, its a stage 3.

that is, once i get it running to its full power potential.

Hey Nick, I sent you an email about getting my car up to Stage 3 spec with Automotion. I needed to find out about 3" downpipes, exhausts and intakes.

well i'm back at it and moving in the right direction. i installed the manifold and turbo to see about the radiator fitment and i was pleasantly surprised! the stock radiator in the stock location with the stock cooling fans should work out nicely. the turbo plumbing should be pretty straight forward except for the oil drain line.....hopefully i get lucky. i will be mounting the radiator and a/c condenser together and then be sourcing a monster intercooler to be mounted behind the bumper. as always some photos for review....please excuse the dirty engine bay.

dave

clearly that pipe is not big enough. what's wrong with you, how do you expect to ever make any power with that tiny thing.
