Koni Kit

Hi,

bought yellow koni sport kit for my 95.

received it from PFS but this is what i found:


Same for rear dampers.

The springs looked used


after contacting PFS paul and alex told me that i would get a new one free or charge, i only had to ship everything back.

so 6 weeks later i received them....

The shocks and springs look fine, no damage.
But now im wondering if i am missing 1 metal ring. because i only have 3...

Also where can i find the manual how to install them. I have no clue where all those white plastic parts are going.....

I checked http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/2007...nt_Suspension/

and its seems rather ok, but platonoff is not using any koni´s...

so if anybody can tell me where those 3 rings are going and all those white plastics i would be a happy person....

Finland...

started on the front and I just removed the passenger side damper and spring.
Do you know if i need to re-use the bump stops? Or if there is a difference between left and right side.

the front swap is easy i can send you some pics of my install on my 9-5 i did the full koni kit with vogtland springs as well its much easyer than it looks. and on the bump stops i think it would all depend on condition i re-used mine but they only had 40k on them and looked like new so i guess it would be more of personal preference. good luck

and the white plastic peices slide down the strut

Hi Pete,

Well it would be great if you could give me some pics where those plastics are going.
Can you see from the picture i attached those yellow bump stops? First i was thinking that they were packing matterial and almost placed them in the trashbin.. i see that the original bumpstops are longer and a lot softer,

But im still wondering hy is there no manual with this kit?

If these shocks are adjustable how can you do that?


isnt it so that you adjust them from the top?

Shouldn't there be much more strut rod sticking out in that last photo? That looks way too short.

THye Koni Yellows are not adjustable on the car on teh 9-5 you need to take em off to do that...

how to adjust them then? because now they are not the same.

and where do those metal round plates go?

Hi dajazz,
Those metal plates look like they slip over the rear dampers and become the spring platform???? you would only need 2 as you have 1 per side

Great that would explain those yes!

Now i only want to know how to adjust those front and rear shocks. What is recommended as i have the koni sport kit that includes the springs. (-30...-40mm)

do i just need to turn the silver pipe that goes in the shock to left or right??

To adjust the shocks you compress them fully and then turn the shaft while they're fully compressed.

aha,

so it did not matter that i have turned them while they were not fully compressed...

any recommendations or just leave them as they are?

Yes the Koni front strut setup sucks on the Saab 9-5...I recommend going more towards the stiff side on the ajustments...I went right in the middle and it is too soft in my opinion...but now I have to take them off to adjust the ride...it sucks

yip i can confirm....
its still very soft, i can push the car up and down...
so if i knew this 2hs ago i would be more happy, well something to do, but not today anymore :P
