Turbo upgrade questions

Looking to start modding my daily... Its a 04 9-5 ARC.. Auto transmission. It has around 60k miles. Could I get away with 350hp on everything stock? Im sure the motor would hold up with a good tune but I can see the tranny being a weak link... Are there any upgrades for the auto trans?

Any info would help.

Thanks

Your year is the 5 spd so yes 350. Internal engine parts tend to break over 300 ( pistons mostly)

I'm thinking you're thinking of way too much. You WILL need to upgrade the internals to handle the GT30. Your pistons will not handle the GT30. I think the limit for a stock bottom end t7 motor is a 19T with a 6 cm^2 exhaust housing - and that is REALLY (and I emphasize REALLY) pushing it. Your tune will have to be absolutely spot on to not burn through the pistons. With a clip that turbo will get you pretty close to 350 bhp - I wouldn't shoot for more with an auto trans anyway.

Just my experience with T7 motors.

If youre going over the 300hp mark, you should really consider forged pistons. Not sure about how much power the transmission will hold reliably
