Anyone install the High Flow intake from genuine saab?

When I bought my '03 Aero this was installed but I dont think the kid put it in right the filter was exposed to water and dirt the filter was disgusting I ended up buying the K&N filter recharge and cleaning it. Paul from Automotion says the drop in filter would be fine but is there another way to protect the high flow I could do like a plate or something?

I've had mine down there.
your best bet is to buy a new splash-guard, or make one.

some guys put those K&N water socks on.
I suppose that's a good solution, but building a guard is best.

Thanks I'll try it I'm gonna go crazy in spring with mods hoping I can do most myself. Well except for the tuning and Paul will do the cams.

meh.
do cams, IC, exhaust, fpr, and have steve, or one of the others do the ECU.
you won't have a setup that's going to require a custom tune.
