ECU Upgrade

Ok, so I've been considering the ecu upgrade from Genuine Saab for my 99' 9-5 sedan. Any opinions? Does anyone know if they carry them in stock or is it something that they have to order?

IMO, you really can't go wrong with anything from Genuine Saab. If you are just ordering one of the standard tuning packages, the ECU itself they should have in stock. If you are getting one of the packages with the exhaust, I hear there is a back order on the Simons exhaust.

Your best bet, really, is to just call them up and talk to Nick though. He's a great guy, and will be perfectly straight forward with you about any questions you may have.

Yeah, I actually had a custom dual exhaust system installed, which gave me about 10 hp, and I put the open air filter kit on from genuine saab, so now all I need is the ecu. Is there anything else I would need to buy or will just the ecu do?

I'd just call nick (at genuinesaab.com) and get the info right from the source. He can tell you what else you might want/need, and what you can expect number wise.

Your really got 10 hp out of splitting the rear tubing for dual exhaust?

Does the new custon exhaust have a 3" Downpipe too?

You may need one of those depending on the level of tune you go with..

You will always find more stuff to add on, but it sounds like a healthy foundation. Just depends on your goals.
