Radiator Qustions

I am looking into replacing my radiator. I Might as well go performance radiator since the performance one I am looking at is about the same amount as the one from eeuro (Like 10 bucks cheaper). Well this is my thing. Is there really a difference between the Auto radiator and the Manual radiator (5 speed, Automatic). I know that some auto 9-5's have oil coolers for the transmission but is the radiator smaller in an auto than the one in a 5 speed?

I just want to know if the all aluminum one would fit because mine is a manual. Looking at the photograph it looks like it would but we all know not to go by pictures.

I bought a Nissens 68001A for my manual 01 9-5 and it worked fine. I needed a new upper radiator hose since they slightly changed the outlet design, but no issue with fitment or the auto trans lines.

It says m/t in the description.
There's a couple guys on the FB groups that have them. I think I remember hearing that they fit pretty well. Whether they cool better or not, I don't know. At least they won't blow the crimps

Yeah the crimps is the issue I'm dealing with now. I want to get mad at replacing so much stuff on this car but I constant;y remind myself that I am the second owner of the car and I picked it up for 5 hund with 204k on it. With the repairs I see myself replacing either the clutch or the transmission soon (not about that life). The seller did get back to me and I did read the description. I'm just more worried about getting a Auto one even though it says M/T in the description. I wanted to know if I would be able to retrofit that way I would not have to deal with the hassle of eBay claims and all that jazz putting the wait that much longer. Carlisle is right around the corner and I would not like to be rushed again this year to finish a repair.

I went for it and got the radiator. It wasn't bad. Have not been able to put it in because my girlfriends car comes before mine. Looks like it will go straight in and mount the fans on it as well with no problems. The seller was actually pretty cool as well. I placed the order and they messaged me back right away letting me know that they did not have any in stock but offered to get one shipped overnight from their warehouse in China. I said yes and it was still delivered in time of estimated delivery. Only thing I'm a little picky about is the position of the drain plug but it can easily be worked around by disconnecting the lower radiator hose, or running some distilled water through it during flushes to clean it out (regular water has too many contaminants that cause corrosion).

Forgot to update this thread.

When I went ahead and replaced this radiator, I ended up ruining one of the cores of the radiator.

It is a beefy radiator and it will take up a little more room in the engine bay and when I was lowering the radiator into the mounting locations, the aluminum core hit the cobra tube in a way where things went south because it got stuck for some reason that I was not able to explain.

Had to opt in for a the auto radiator with the opening for the transmission cooler lines.

Now that I am thinking about things, I want to utilize the openings where the transmission lines are supposed to go.

How hot do the 9-5's run?

I ask thins because I want to set up a separate expansion tank in the rear with a pump that will pump lower temp coolant through that line to provide a little cooling. I Know it sounds weird but it seems like a waste to me to leave that hole open and dry. I think it will corrode faster with it being empty.

What do you think?
