1999 Saab 9-5 Help!

I have a 1999 Saab 9-5 with the 3.0L Turbo ed engine (low pressure turbo...) and I have absolutely no idea what I can do to get more horsepower and torque from the engine. Everything I have found is saying that the tronnic7 system is a complex beast and doesn't take kindly too modifications I bought a td04-16t turbo but I just don't know if it will work on this car. Any knowledge at all would be great!

Trionic 7 is a great system and takes very well to tuning and modification! I do not believe your V6 uses Trionic, but instead is a Motronic system (I think)? The real problem is the 3.0 V6. It is not a great motor and does not take to tuning at all. And no you cannot put a TD04 of it. The V6 uses a turbo that utilizes the exhaust manifold as its turbine housing, leaving you virtually no options to upgrade the turbo/boost (not that the motor could handle it anyway).

Sell it and get a turbo 4.

Tough love.

I approve.

V6 is not the engine to modify.
It's a decent 200hp cruiser, but requires more upkeep than the 4cyl, and has less potential. There used to be ecu upgrades for it, but it wasn't very aggressive. maybe 230hp?

I should have done my research before buying the car. It was a really nice quick car when I test drove it thinking this thing will be really nice to make into a nice little track car or performance street car. I was wrong. Thanks for the input.

Don't worry too much about it. Still a 9-5, still drives great and has good power. But we all recommend the 4cyl for tuning.

The only reason it took all day to install was because we couldn't keep our dicks out of each others mouths.

Yeah. Don't sell/crush it. They're not complete garbage.
Just... don't plan on making it a street rod. Keep up on the timing belt and oil cooler, and whatnot.

Drive it and save up a couple grand for a 4-cyl. They show up often-enough for cheap.

Yep do the maintenance and drive it as a Daily driver. Even at 200 HP, you'll still have plenty of HP vs average Honda, etc. Nice riding car and decent on gas mileage, no reason it shouldn't last if you do timing belt and other maintenance items.

Save up, the 4 cylinders are going cheap these days.
